1 Corinthians 13:1–7

Leader: If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.

ALL: 2 And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

Leader: 3 If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.

ALL: 4 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant 5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;

Leader: 6 Love does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.

ALL: 7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

2 Corinthians 5:17-20

17 如果有人在基督里,他就是新造的人,旧事已经过去,你看,都变成新的了!

17 Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

18 这一切都是出于 神,他借着基督使我们与他自己和好,并且把这和好的职分赐给我们,

18 And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him.

19 就是 神在基督里使世人与他自己和好,不再追究他们的过犯,并且把和好的道理托付了我们。

19 For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.

20 因此,我们就是基督的使者, 神借着我们劝告世人。我们代替基督请求你们:跟 神和好吧!

ALL: 20 So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us.
We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!”

From Matthew 11:28–30

Leader: 28 Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”

ALL: Jesus, please forgive us for trying to carry all our burdens alone. Forgive us for trying to find rest and peace in the wrong places. Help us give to you all of our burdens, our fears, our problems, and our sin!

Leader: 28 Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest!”

1 John 4:7–16

Leader: 7 Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God.

All:  Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. 8 But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

Leader: 9 God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him.

All:  10 This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.

Leader: 11 Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other.

All:  12 No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us.

Leader: 13 And God has given us his Spirit as proof that we live in him and he in us.

All: 14 We have seen with our own eyes and now testify that the Father sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15 All who declare that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God. 16 We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love.

1 Peter 1:3–8

Leader: 3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

All:  It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great hope, 4 and we have a priceless inheritance—

Leader: An inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled. 5 And through your faith, God is protecting you by his power until you receive this salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see.

All:  6 So we are truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though we must endure many trials for a little while.

Leader: 7 These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold.

All:  8 We love him even though we have never seen him. Though we do not see him now, we trust him; and we rejoice with a glorious, abundant joy!
