Adapted from Isaiah 1:18, Joel 2:14, Psalm 103, 1 John 1:9, Psalm 51:17, & James 4:10

Come now, and let us reason together, says the Lord; though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be like wool.

Rend your heart, and not your garments, Return to the LORD your God; for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness.

The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in mercy. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, thou will not despise. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he will lift you up. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.

Psalm 1:1-6

Leader: 1 Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked,

or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers.

ALL: 2 But they delight in the law of the Lord,

meditating on it day and night.

Leader: 3 They are like trees planted along the riverbank,

bearing fruit each season.

ALL: Their leaves never wither,

and they prosper in all they do.

Leader: 4 But not the wicked!

They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind.

5 They will be condemned at the time of judgment.

Sinners will have no place among the godly.

ALL: 6 For the Lord watches over the path of the godly,

but the path of the wicked leads to destruction.

Psalm 95:1, 6, 7, 8, 10

Leader: 6 Come, let us bow down in worship,

let us kneel before the Lord our Maker;

ALL: 7 for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture,

the flock under his care.

Leader: Today, if only you would hear his voice,

8 “Do not harden your hearts as you did at Meribah,

as you did that day at Massah in the wilderness,

10 For forty years I was angry with that generation;

I said, ‘They are a people whose hearts go astray,

and they have not known my ways.’

ALL: 6 Come, let us bow down in worship,

let us kneel before the Lord our Maker;

Leader: 7 for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture,

the flock under his care.

ALL:    1 Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD!

         let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation!

From Isaiah 56

Leader: The Lord says to His people: “Maintain justice, and do what is right, for My salvation is coming soon, and My righteousness will be revealed.

People: “Blessed is the one who keeps the Sabbath, and keeps his hands from evil.”

Leader: The Lord says: “To those who keep My sabbath, who choose the things that please Me and hold fast My covenant, I will give them an everlasting name that will endure forever.”

People: And foreigners will join themselves to the Lord, to worship Him, to love the name of the Lord, and to be His servants…

Leader: The Lord says: “I will bring them to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My house of prayer. My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations.”

People: Let us now worship the Lord of all nations. He is worthy of our praise!
