Leader: 3 Trust in the LORD and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper.
ALL: 4 Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart’s desires.
Leader: 5 Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust him, and he will help you.
ALL: 6 He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn,
and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun.
Leader: 7 Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act.
ALL: Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes.
Leader: 23 The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.
ALL: 24 Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the LORD holds them by the hand.

Leader: 1 Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked,
or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers.
ALL: 2 But they delight in the law of the Lord,
meditating on it day and night.
Leader: 3 They are like trees planted along the riverbank,
bearing fruit each season.
ALL: Their leaves never wither,
and they prosper in all they do.
Leader: 4 But not the wicked!
They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind.
5 They will be condemned at the time of judgment.
Sinners will have no place among the godly.
ALL: 6 For the Lord watches over the path of the godly,
but the path of the wicked leads to destruction.

The Lord has hidden his face from our sin. He has blotted out all of our iniquity. For Christ Jesus, the Perfect suffered for the imperfect, the sinless became sin for the sinner. We are forgiven and freed to live in a right relationship with God. He has created within us a clean heart and renewed a right spirit within us. God has restored our joy and given us a willing spirit to do all that he asks. Brothers and sisters, you are forgiven, indeed! Amen.

ALL: 7 for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture,
the flock under his care.
Leader: Today, if only you would hear his voice,
8 “Do not harden your hearts as you did at Meribah,
as you did that day at Massah in the wilderness,
10 For forty years I was angry with that generation;
I said, ‘They are a people whose hearts go astray,
and they have not known my ways.’
