Psalm 30

Leader: 4 Sing to the Lord, all you godly ones!

Praise his holy name.

5 For his anger lasts only a moment,

but his favor lasts a lifetime!

ALL: Weeping may last through the night,

but joy comes with the morning.

Leader: 6 When I was prosperous, I said,

“Nothing can stop me now!”

ALL: 7 Your favor, O Lord, made me as secure as a mountain.

Then you turned away from me, and I was shattered.

Leader: 8 I cried out to you, O Lord.

I begged the Lord for mercy, saying,

ALL: 9 “What will you gain if I die, if I sink into the grave?

Leader: Can my dust praise you? Can it tell of your faithfulness?

10 Hear me, Lord, and have mercy on me. Help me, O Lord.”

ALL: 11 You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing.

You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy,

12 that I might sing praises to you and not be silent.

O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever!

Isaiah 55:1-4

Leader: The Lord says: “Is anyone thirsty? Come and drink!

All:  Even if you have no money! Come, take your choice of wine or milk. It’s all free!”

Leader: The Lord says, “Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.

All: Why do you spend your money for things that do you no good?”

Leader: The Lord says, “Listen closely to me, and you will eat what is good.”

All: God provides the finest food for our souls. Let us come to Him!

Leader: The Lord says, “Come to me with your ears wide open. Listen, and you will find life.”

ALL: Seek the Lord while you can find him. Call on Him now while He is near.

Psalm 19:7–14

Leader: 7 The instructions of the Lord are perfect, reviving the soul.

ALL: The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.

Leader: 8 The commandments of the Lord are right, bringing joy to the heart.

ALL: The commands of the Lord are clear, giving insight for living.

Leader: 9 The laws of the Lord are true; each one is fair.

ALL: 10 They are more desirable than gold, even the finest gold.

They are sweeter than honey, even honey dripping from the comb.

Leader: 11 They are a warning to your servant, a great reward for those who obey them.

ALL: 12 How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart? Cleanse me from these hidden faults.

Leader: 13 Keep your servant from deliberate sins! Don’t let them control me.

Then I will be free of guilt and innocent of great sin.

ALL: 14 May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart

be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.

Psalm 24:7-10

LEADER: 7 Lift up your heads, O gates!

And be lifted up, O ancient doors,

that the King of glory may come in.

8 Who is this King of glory?

ALL: The Lord, strong and mighty,

the Lord, mighty in battle!

LEADER: 9 Lift up your heads, O gates!

And lift them up, O ancient doors,

that the King of glory may come in.

10 Who is this King of glory?

ALL: The Lord of hosts,

He is the King of glory!

From Psalm 121

Leader: We lift up our eyes to the hills. From where does our help come?

All: Our help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

Leader: He will not let our foot be moved; he who keeps us will not slumber.

All: Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

Leader: The LORD is our keeper; the LORD is our shade on our right hand.

All: The sun shall not strike us by day, nor the moon by night.

Leader: The LORD will keep you from all evil; he will keep our lives.
